Scenario: You have just decided to bring your new girlfriend home to meet your family. It’s a big birthday celebration for your grandpa so there are going to be a lot of people at your parents house and therefore you need to get a hotel room for the night.
Etiquette Question: Do you make your new girlfriend pay for half of the hotel room?

My first thought - Eric, I don’t think your wife is gonna be too happy about you having a new girlfriend…and taking her home to meet your parents. Yeah, yeah “this friend of mine…” nudge, nudge, wink, wink — I gotcha.
My second thought - (before I saw there was a bonus question) was… “is that the Elm Crest?… and how/why do you have a picture of it?”
And now the question at hand — if you’re hoping to keep this girlfriend then you better not ask her to pay and if she offers you turn it down. YOU are taking her on a trip home, thus YOU should pay the expenses.
so it only took 7-8months for the child to ruin your marriage. at least you’ve found your rebound girl. As for your answer. make her pay, unless you have a job. in which case you pay, but on one stipulation…..that she jumps out of your grandpa’s cake.
Eric Clapton Rogers what are you doing with a picture of the Elm Crest Motel? Have you started scrap booking? Or just having a severe case of naustagia? If so you are welcome to come live in the basement for a small fee.
If you kill the hooker you can get your money back, and then use that money to pay for the room.

Thanks for bringing this up. I officially retracted my demand for payment. In return, I was told that she will pay anyway. Which I will turn down of course…or take to the bar!
