Screech needs Scratch

I’m buying my shirt right now!

The Forum
Dustin Diamond, the actor who played Screech on the kiddie morning sitcom Saved by the Bell, is trying to raise $250,000 via online Tshirt sales to keep from losing his Wisconsin home.

Diamond, who now tours as a standup comedian, says on the Web site he set up for his campaign, getdshirts.com, that he bought his house on a land contract because his credit was too shabby to get a mortgage.

When the value of the property went up, he was forced to pay $250,000 in the next 30 days to keep the house. He attempted to get a mortgage through a New York banker but was blown off. This irritated the man who reprised his role as Screech in multiple Saved by the Bell spinoffs.

“Let’s face it, if he can’t find the time to work on a mortgage for a famous celebrity, how will he handle the average person” Diamond writes on his Web site.
