I’m assuming everyone has heard of Buffalo Wild Wings newest marketing slogan “Night Hunger”. I stumbled across their “Choose your own adventure” type game on their website today. Kinda funny.

*Note – If you choose to go to the bridge instead of the house, as the headless horseman throws pumpkins at you, one of Ted’s random sayings is, “Just a bit outside” a la Major League.

Government unveils world’s fastest computer

WASHINGTON (AP) — Scientists at the Los Alamos government weapons lab have built the world’s fastest computer, capable of sustaining 1,000 trillion operations per second.

The Energy Department and IBM Corp. announced the breakthrough Monday.

The computer will be used to help maintain the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile.

Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman says the new computer, named Roadrunner, also will be used to help solve global energy problems and “open new windows of knowledge” in basic research.

The Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico and IBM worked for six years to achieve the world record computer speed.

Apparently there are some people out there who think video games are so addictive that they could lead to a psychiatric disorder:

CHICAGO – The telltale signs are ominous: teens holing up in their rooms, ignoring friends, family, even food and a shower, while grades plummet and belligerence soars.

The culprit isn’t alcohol or drugs. It’s video games, which for certain kids can be as powerfully addictive as heroin, some doctors contend.

A leading council of the nation’s largest doctors’ group wants to have this behavior officially classified as a psychiatric disorder, to raise awareness and enable sufferers to get insurance coverage for treatment.

(The real travesty here is the parents of these two poor boys are making them play a PS1!)
